I don't have a gut. Rather, I have a pretty nice six-pack from all the gutbusters I've been doing after every run.

Doug, what marathon did you run? What was your time? How many miles a week were you training?

When I sit, yep, but it's fading .. slowly but surely.

I put on 50 pounds in college. That's what a constant diet of pizza, hoagies, and burgers will do.

I have 20 of it off .. I'd like to drop another 40 and I'd be happy.

Currently 6'3" 240. I don't think I'll ever be thin .. just not built that way.

I don't have much of a gut when I stand. It definately doesn't hang over my belt.

More likely the chips you eat while consuming beer, and the junkfood the day after :p

No.
I am not as "skinny" as I used to be, but I am by no means fat.
I am 6'1", last I weighed about 188 lbs.

big study was done in the czech republic and found there is no correlation between having a gut and beer intake.

I saw a guy a few weeks ago, he didn't have a gut.
He seriously looked like he was pregnant, and his trousers (pants to you guys) were undone I think. I saw him from side on.
He didn't look all over fat, just pregnant fat (seriously, he could have had a fully developed baby or two in there).
It was sick.

As for me, no.
And I don't wear a belt, I get trousers that mostly fit, although I think I might need a belt soon to hold them up :(

BS, your telling me that if you take in 870 calories just from beer a day you wont get a gut? (that's a six back of Bud)

The beer gut is partially attributed to a swolen liver from all the alcohol intake, not the calories. Although the calories will make you fat, but not only in the stomach.

At least, that is what I remember reading some time ago. Not sure if the myth's been dispelled.

YGPM :)

EDIT: if anyone else cares... I ran the Lewis and Clark Marathon in St. Louis... time was 3:32, miles/week ~ 20-40.

Nope none here. The belly was starting to get there but I quit drinking everything but water about 8 months ago and that did wonders.
