Yep. I work for a Fortune 500 company who just moved buildings today and the new building has a "mom's room." There are probably 1-3 women in my 150 person department who have used/will use in the last/next six months.

So, now that its been established that there already laws in 48 states requiring businesses to provide a secure area for women to lactate, and that this was not a "secret" or "buried" provision in the health care law, and that it has been common practice already in a large number of businesses to do this:

Can we say:
1) the OP was seriously pwned
2) inquire as to what right wing news outlet, website, blog or email he got his erroneous info from?
3) inquire as to where he got his info for his later post saying lawyers were gearing up to make money off the law?
4) can we use this thread the next time the OP posts with NO link, no evidence, no nothing to tell him to show us some proof?

Wow, you guys must not have a family, kids or working significant others. This is a great requirement.

Really? What if, for example, a big company has a small satellite office with one or two people in it? Do they need a dedicated room? I guess I can see it being nice in a very large office, but I can only think of one baby born in my office over the past several years. It would seem like a waste in our case, unless it could be dual use.

1) Why? It's no big deal. Go wave your e-peen in P&N.
2) Ah, you've let the cat out of your partisan bag with this one.
3) Feel free. The rest of us don't give a shit.
4) See #3.

You've got to be joking? You do 500k of business, and make lets say a 10% profit on that. How big a building you think you are going to have on that 50k? How many employees do you even think a company making 50k in profits is going to have? Seriously 500k in interstate commerce could be a one man business.
If you're making a 10% profit on a 500k business, it sounds like you kind of suck at business.

Are you serious? 80% of restrooms are trashed or disgusting. Would you feel comfortable sitting in your restroom at work and eating your lunch or dinner?

FYI, my wife works in retail 10 hr shifts so my opinion might be slightly biased :).

*SIGH*....so instead of about a year's wage for an average employee, some company is going to have to pay to renovate their office space.

Somehow I think this came to pass due to the permits and building requirements to make some donating group happy.

We used to just give an secluded office to whatever bitch was pushy enough to demand it. She got a key and the glass was sealed off.

These offices get trashed. Food stains. Garbage just left everywhere. etc.

Now we are going to have to build a special room(s) for this...we need people working, not giving out benefits that aren't really needed.

Yes, because pumping at home is so unreasonable.

Oblama keeps the suprises coming!

Guess you dont have kids, you are supposed to pump every 3-4 hrs else the milk supply dries up with many women. Also, when you are home most of the milk goes directly to the baby and doesnt leave much left to be pumped. My wife is breast feeding currently and her company doesnt allow for any sort of pumpking
