**I'm sorry, when I checked stock on line it said "in stock", and then I phoned and was told 3 by the cs counter. When I got in to where they have them behind the counter, that is when he told me none, and then I gave up my info. Nonetheless, if it shows stock online, go into your store and don't cave too easily.
With reference to the Western Digital HD that was on sale today & yesterday and the rebates & PM at Best Buy, it always seems that when I go into my local store they are sold out of the hot deals. Today I checke stock online before going into the store, and it said 3 in stock. Went down and the shelves were empty and I asked the clerk. he stated "out of stock". I told him I just checked stock from my computer and it showed you had 3 available. He looked at me, said "one second", went to the back, and voila!!!!!, he comes back to the counter with 3 Western Digital 45g hd's. I guess the point of this post is that, this has happened to me on more than 1 occassion, and from now on, when they have a really hot deal, I will check stock before I even go down to the store. I realize that their info sometimes is not 100% accurate, but chances are if they show more than 1 of
the item in stock, you will find it in the store with a little persistance. I also got a rc from BB for $129.00, and the clerk said they may get more in tonights delivery.

How are you able to find out the quantity available at a store. When I check my local stores it only says in-stock or out of stock.

For those of use not familiar with CompUSA's site, could you give us
some pointers on where to look for the in-stock counts?

For instance, I was able to
find the WD hard drive at this link , but it doesn't show how many are in stock for either the main CompUSA.com wherehouse, or the b&ms in my area.

Thanks again for the cool tip!

Doh, I didn't look at the page at the link I posted close enough: there's a "Find In-Store" input box that you can type in your zip code. This will show a list of the closest CompUSAs, along with in-stocks numbers.

the easiest way to get Comp USa's deals is to get the Sunday paper Sat night before they close and buy the stuff saturday...their rebates usually allow purchases made the day before

Hey folks,

Believe it or not the online site, showing the quantity left, IS NOT INSTANTLY updated when they make a sale. Many stores only "update" their databases hourly, some daily, etc.

Hell, I think Buy.com is like every other day or something...."450 left in stock"....I call..."we've been on backorder for several days..."
