Dallas here, and no, not really. There are more bandwagoners when things are going good than anything else.

It depends. My neighbor is a die hard Chargers fan, has season tickets every year, has decals on his car etc.

When the Chargers are playing well though and there's a big game you definitely see more Chargers fans come out of the woodwork and jump on the bandwagon.

In Oklahoma, insulting OU (or OSU, depending on where you are) is second only to insulting the baby Jesus. Urban folks are all about OU, rural folks worship OSU. They do come together a bit whenever either team plays UT, but even then the relationship is more Churchill and Stalin than it is Churchill and Roosevelt.

You say it like it's a bad thing. It's not. It's actually quite awesome and something that I really, really miss being where I am now.

Probably the closest you get to it professionally is Green Bay with it's very small town atmosphere and family oriented, loyal fan base.

Hmm ... there's always big crowds for little league games and softball games and what not in the big park by my house... does that count?

When the town has their 4th of july fireworks, it seems like there's more people in the park watching the show than there are people that live in the entire town....

I am in the LA area, LA fans are fair weather fans. If the Lakers are in the champion round of the playoffs then yes the fans come out and we start to see some excitement in the city. Anytime else you would never know what sporting season it is at the current time.

Do you count the Dodger fans that come together to beat to death the SF Giant fans?
