Does your CDR lag puter wen finalizing?

i have a ide panasonic(matushita) 4x8 cdr drive. Whever it begins and stops burning, it lags the entire puter (actually freezes) for a couple of seconds. I am using a burning software called "hival". Anyone have come across this problem? I want to get a 2nd cdr burner, but this freezing the puter thing will mess most likely mess up the other cdr burn.
 
Never had that problem but if your running it on the system you have listed in your signature I'm not at all surprised it would freeze your computer for a few moments.
Could also be related to the software your using for burning, but if you are using with a P75 w/ 8MB RAM then it's most likely the system is the cause.
 
I'm surprised it even works at all. Most burners and software require a P166 to run. And that 450mb Hard drive must be slow as hell.

See if you can find somebody with extra pentiums lying around. I got 5 or so pentiunm of arious speeds (all oc to 200mhz tho). I don't wanna ship 'em so don't bother asking me for them.
