It's so much better to let your employer find out that little "bonus" aspect after you've been hired. Besides, everyone already knows that users are evil little trolls that must be punished. Especially after they set up their own little DHCP servers and attempt to deny responsibility.

I'm not the top network admin, so I dont set the policies, I'm just the guy who tracks the bastage down and kills his connection, then talks to him when he franticly demands his network connection be reinstated. It's funny how some people dont understand reality, and how when you have no leverage, calling the guy who controls your internet access a "c*cksucker" (and this was before I started being a bastard) is not helpful.
He wasnt going to get his connection back until the next day anyway, but after we had our little conversation, he's going to have to wait quite a while longer. Though if he had any brains at all he'd just buy a 802.11b card (there's an AP about 25' from his office door) and wait until his hardwired connection was restored. Of course, if you have any brains at all, after causing a network outage for a couple other people, and after getting someone from IT Networking on the line who confirms that your connection has been stopped (and I politely told him what he had done to cause that), the first words out of your mouth would not be "Now listen here you little c*cksucker...".
