Hello,

Does yahoo (and likewise google, hotmail) mirror it's mail servers to enable a subscriber quick ccess to his mails.
e.g. i have got a yahoo.com account, if i am in the Uk will i be connecting to a yahoo mail server in the us or in the UK?

you'll be using one in the UK. They have many different data centers to handle content. They use global site selectors and content switches to tell you where to go.

thanks for the reply,

and when i visit say japan, i will use a yahoo server in japan. upon use of the japanese server, all the content in the mirror servers is synched based on my transaction with the japanese server, correct?

do all servers have the content (mails) for all users?
