Does XP have Serial support still?

I thought I recall reading that serial devices didn't work in XP, or are they just not officially supported? I was about to make a link cable for my calc... a serial type this time, but I thought I would make sure before I spent the time making it!

Do you mean a standard, regular gameport? Like the type you get on a soundcard? If so, mine works fine...

You don't have direct access to the serial port, so it might not work.

Edit: Actually I think it might be the parallel port that you don't have access to.

Serial Port access: Yes. Many people use the serial port in all sorts of case mods, specifically LCD displays.
Printer Port access: Duh. How many pissed off people would their be if they couldn't hook up their old school printers?
game Port access: Why would mobo manufacturers still be including brackets for gameports if 90% of people wouldn't use them, as opposed to just making people pay for them if they need them?
