I was going to try out some freeware and it said-
"The application requires an operating system with the .NET Framework installed."

wag v1.0.0 -- Win9x/ME (4 doves)
"wag" (formerly Web Album Generator) is a tool which creates an album of photos and graphics viewable using any Web browser. It features: auto-creation of thumbnails; supports BMP, GIF, JPEG, EXIF, PNG & TIFF files; requires minimal configuration; and processes all the images in a folder. This is one of the easiest tools we've seen to create an HTML page of your photos and graphics. These images can be viewed through any Web browser. It creates thumbnails of the images and each image is hyperlinked to the original for viewing. You can even add your name and details to the program and it will add them to the page, creating a heading, a sub-heading, your name, and your e-mail address (hyperlinked). It also places a small copyright notice at the bottom of the page (ie "Copyright © 2002 John Smith"). So far so good. Alas, the program seems to have some inherent problems. The thumbnail images it creates are all 120 pixels wide or 120 pixels deep -- which is great if you have a large image but terrible if you have a small image (it gets stretched to that size)! It also automatically converts all images into the JPG format which might be great for photos but is usually less than great for other types of images. Those created images are all 600 pixels wide and up to 600 deep -- not too nice if you have an original image which is smaller! As with the thumbnails, it stretches a smaller image to fit either 600 pixels wide or 600 pixels deep (depending of the format of the original image). We also had a problem with the program converting TIF images -- most it converted but it some it didn't. We therefore urge caution in using "wag". Where your images are of the correct size and type you will love this little program, but if, like us, you have a mixed selection of images you may find that some manual editing of the generated HTML, and of the images, is required to get them to display the way you want. You might find also that editing the HTML heading information is advisable too so that the overall effect fits in with your other pages should you decide to post these images on the Net. Note: this program requires that Microsoft's .NET Framework is installed on your computer. Access this 15kB download from: >>
