Does Windows XP support multi-processors?

I was wondering if Windows XP will support Multi-processors.
After reading about the 760MP chipset,
I feel myself being drawn toward a future
Dual-1.7ghz Athlon machine.😀
Ok, is anyone here testing XP with multi-processors?
Know a good article/review about it (if it does support SMP)?
Thanks

The Professional and higher editions will support SMP. The Home/Personal edition will not.

Thanks,
I don't think I want to shell out that much for Windows XP.
The Home version should be alot cheaper than the "pro".
I guess I'll stick with single processors.
Maybe have a good look at an Nvidia N-Force board
in a few months.😀

I'm also drawn to a multi-processor system. I do a lot of work in Linux (programming) and Win2k as well (maybe Xp in the future), and I would like to move up to a muti-cpu box. If not though I'm also seriously considering the N-force + DDR ram for my system (just ordered a KT7E to tie me over till it comes out. With that I can use my current ram and save on DDR until I really need to buy it).

Windows 9x/ME/XP Home = 1 CPU
Windows 2000/XP Professional = 2 CPU
Windows 2000/XP Server = 4 CPU
Windows 2000/XP Advanced Server = 8 CPU
Windows 2000/XP DataCenter Server = 32CPU (not available commercially, OEM only).

Note: I believe the 3 Server varieties of XP are actually going to be called Windows 2002 Server, AServer, DCServer, and won't carry the XP label. I think that's only for Home/Pro.
