Does Windows 2000 Pro have a Polocy Editor?

I'm looking for something like Netware's ZENworks, but am unsure if teh client operating system would include something like that, althought Windows 2000, being a multiuser OS, should include an utility that can restrict users access to, say the control panel, or forbid groups of users to format a partition, etc.

Anyone know anything about this?

In the control panel there should be Administrative Tools, in there I think you want Local Security policy. It's there on XP and if memory serves me correctly it's there in 2k too.

Not really sure how to use it. I guess I'll need to read up on this a little first.

Sorry for the stupid question in this case.

Start > Run > "mmc" > add/remove snap in > add group policy.

In group policy go to computer configuration, then to administrative templates.

You'll see Control Pannel there, also a butt load of other things you can do from the group policy snap in.

Hope that helped.
