does win 98se require a cd key?

I am thinking it does require one.Please let me know as I don't plan on installing it for a long time but would like to get this straightened out.

Need to wait until the bugs get worked out. It's just a bloated Win95 anyway. Extra fluff without any compelling new features :^P

Yeah, no need to go beyond Win 95 OSR2.
 
Ok a lot of smart people here,I have windows Me installed on my legacy machine,it is not on the network.So how do I download updates for it on my XP machine to burn to cdr and swap it between them?
