I'm going to be drinking tonight... I've currently got an empty stomach (last food I ate was a sandwich for lunch yesterday around noon) but I don't want the liquor to be going straight to my head or anything since I've got an hour drive home afterwards (well, I could spend the night and will if I have to, but would rather not).

any suggestions for what to eat before drinking?

A big ass steak before drinking will help slow down how fast your body takes in alcohol. But, there's no magical food your can eat that will keep you safe to drive if you drink too much.

If you eat lots of starch and carbs, you'll have a higher tolerance. Then you can outdrink the womenz and do stuff with 'em.

I've never had a problem outdrinking women, regardless of what I eat.

Of course they never, ever let me "do stuff" with them. :(

I eat a handful of almonds before going out drinking and do a pretty good job outlasting everyone and I'm only 5'5" 120lbs.

Eat something that takes awhile to digest. Your stomach closes the entrance to the intestine (where most alcohol is absorbed into the blood) so it can digest the food.
