I for one think it looks OK.. especially for college aged people. However, I think its pathetic that office workers today cannot stand to put on a suit and tie for work.

I think it's part of the lazy culture of America... you can flame me if I am wrong.

geez louise...finally....was feeling alone

Yeah but is a shirt and tie business casual?

Incidently, by your logic everyone who works for Apple is a douche.

there are also plenty of other reasons why ppl who work for apple are douches 😀

ok that part may be true. No flaming, Im just curious as to what you consider business casual if a button down shirt without a tie is unacceptable. Unless you just think business casual in general is a bad idea.

I think one can wear the shirt and no tie with a coat. that works well. Also slacks w/ a polo works. Sweaters over a dress shirt, or sweater alone......
Sweater alone?
You fail.

...ok, maybe pants too 😀

most banks and professional firms will tell you business casual means slacks + dress shirt

people will wear a blazer or jacket over that if its cold outside but walking around the office or client site, you leave the jacket at your chair

I was just thinking that.

Also I thought a button up shirt was dressier than a polo. But polo with slacks is ok? eh...forget it...

/thread. No point in discussing this further with someone who has no experience and refuses to listen to those that do.

are you retarted..im in college and never worked a day in my life... you are the idiot.... i have worked at 2 different law firms and one of the BIG 3 accounting firms... get over yourself

PLUS, im not asking what people actually wear....can you read???

I'm confused here, you said you never worked a day in your life, then you said you worked at 2 law firms and one of the BIG 3 (wait a sec, I thought it's still BIG 4? which one went down again? I hope I'm OK since I work for 1 of them 😉 ) accounting firms?

If you worked a day at one of the BIG 4 firms, you would definitely know what Business Casual is...

.........Yes....YES>.i know that EVEROYNE DRESSES LIKE THIS............... and im saying that they all look like douches like this....... im not questioning if ppl dress like this

EDIT...sorry, the 3 key is next to the 4

Uh.. how do u define business casual then

In my mind it's no jacket no tie. And since you dont have a tie, theres no point in buttoning the top button.

That is business casual - Top End...

Typically business casual is kahki's and a Golf Shirt/Sweater

Thats business casual to me. I got into a huge argument with my club president because he came out decked in an expensive shirt and tie and called that biz casual. To him, losing the blazer was business casual, while I was in khakis and a golf shirt. All this for a fvcking club officer meeting (not even a general meeting) so we could discuss logistics for the club.

As long as you have a dress shirt (no tie) you're definitely fine for casual at least.

My summer:
Monday - Thurs - Khakis + Polo/short sleeve button down
Fri = shorts + sandals FTW!!

And how exactly does having an unbuttoned collar make people look like a douche? Thats just... normal fashion

I think the OP means the top button should be buttoned but it's ok if the rest are unbottoned.

Dude you're just an idiot. What college you go to? I'll make damn sure my son doesn't go to that college.

AGAIN, check the topic of this thread that YOU created.

"Does wearing Oxford button-down shirt without a tie and top button undone = Business Casual attire??"

There are two key indicators that this is a question. Lets see if you can figure them out.

Seriously, what's your definition of business casual that everyone should follow

Its on page 3

I'm part of the engineering staff at my work, and for us the dress code is nominally "business casual", but in reality it translates to whatever the hell we want to wear. For most of us, it's jeans and a tshirt.

corporate america = business casual

for men: khakies, slacks, dress shirt, no tie

i'm not sure where you would wear a suit every single day anymore. well in asia, most bankers still wear the full suit into the office but never on the floor

In Japan they are trying to move away from the suits because of the high summer cooling bills.
