SUmmary ...WELL, the reason they allow employees to dress "casual" is obvious from this thread. The ppl workin it out at the botton portion of the company will bitch and complain that they have to dress up and whine to their union rep/ supervisor that they don't wanna have to dress up all nice.... Its obvious people bitch and complain so of course companies let their employees dress down and look like crap

seriosuly, why does anyone think just taking the tie off the shirt and undoing the top button make is dress casual... it just looks really sleezy...

id say the only time that style is to be worn is when a business man is getting off of work and going to a seedy motel to meet his mistress... why do ppl dress like this?????

EDIT--- i am not the other CHIBOY!!!!!!!

and GOD YES, i realize that MOST ppl dress like this...its not the point

is it really that big of a deal? Wearing an expensive suit/tie doesn't prove that you smart or hard-working anyways.

That is business casual - Top End...

I guess you've never been in an office environment. Business casual is dress pants and a shirt with a collar. No tie/jacket required.

You've obviously never worked a day in your life. That's how my entire Fortune 100 company dresses. Not to mention everyone in every company I've ever worked for. Minus executives, they generally wear a jacket and a shirt without the tie...or with a tie for meetings.

Gotta love kids...clueless about real life.

I do that all the time with jacket, khakis, or jeans depending on how casual i need to be.

OK, then what's your definition of business casual?

You think wearing slacks and a button down shirt without a tie is sleezy looking?

So seriously, what do you wear everyday?

haha. your'e funny.

weird thing is, most smaller companies that I worked for I needed to wear a tie. But working for huge company headquarters, you'll notice that less and less people wear ties (unless you're vp or above).

Obviously never worked day in my life... because i think they look like douches when doing this... i never said that this was how it was done, read my post.. BUT wearing the jacket makes a big difference..... w/o the jacket is much worse

well it is a matter of taste. But quite a few private and boarding schools have uniforms similar to that so I don't see why you think its so bad. Guys also don't have as many choices as women when it comes to business casual.

Im pretty sure you're being sarcastic about that part, but what would you suggest anyway?

I for one think it looks OK.. especially for college aged people. However, I think its pathetic that office workers today cannot stand to put on a suit and tie for work.

I think it's part of the lazy culture of America... you can flame me if I am wrong.

(shakes head, rolls eyes)

A nice dress shirt without a tie is a perfectly valid instance of dress casual, especially when paired with jeans or khakis.

Yes, and we also work in companies that require bus-cas. attire so we kinda know WTF we're talking about. ;)

What you describe is what the average guy in my office is wearing.
