I bought the NGC game Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and I don't think I like it that much. I'd much rather have Cel Damage I think. Anyway, since the game is opened do you think I'd be able to return it for a different game? Suppose I could call Wal-Mart and ask them but I don't think they're CS is there right now.

I had to return a Dreamcast game once because it just randomly stopped working and all they would do is return it for the same game. Unfortunately they didnt have the game in stock so they gave me store credit.

I don't think so.. I went to return an unopened N64 game a year ago and the lady was like "WHO TOLD YOU YOU COULD RETUR... oh, it's not opened"

So basically, I think you're SOL. Sorry :(

No, you may only exchange it should the game be defective.

I don't think they will.

At the Wal-Mart here there are signs all over the electronics department saying that opened software, DVDs, Video Games and CDs cannot be returned for any reason.

He's saying he'd buy it, but he only has $30. That and you'd have to pay $15 to ship it to the great white North.

I don't think they are suppose to but it all depends on who you talk to there at wal mart. Some just lets you return it without thinking about it.

Walmart is a great place if you need to return something.

Wal-Mart is kinda dumb sometimes....When they open non-computer game cases (PS2, GC, XBOX) and let you pay for it in another department, when you could easily get a friend to go back in and walk out with another copy using your reciet at within a couple minutes of the purchase time :Q:D;) They might let something like an opened game go...

No no and no, just like most other places. If they openly let you return opened softwares, they are insane.

Do you think there wouldn't be alot of people buying the games, duplicate them at home and return the original?

I think it will happen constantly if the game was returnable.

That's their problem for not having the game stock, so you were probably given store credit to spend on something else or re-buy the game when its back.

Gamecube games can't be copied that I know of

Guess I shouldn't expect Wal-Mart to know that though

oh well.

I see it's selling for $40+ on Ebay so that's not bad.

Besides, right now I'm addicted to raising my Chao!

what i meant is if your going to go there an just say "i dont like this game, Can i have a refund" the answer will be NO. If you are going to put work into it (LEGAL) then the answer is yes

Wal~mart employee here....

We exchange everything same for same, doesn't make a difference if you have a receipt or not. We can not return opened software or anything of the sort because Wal~mart will get fined for every piece that does get returned. You can very easily get fired for returning things of this nature and they can look everything up to see who did, etc.

If I exchange software or anything with a customer who complains it has a problem, I open the new product in the store before they leave so they can see it has no visual problems. This also serves another very important reason, they can not return the newly exchanged item to get their money back as it has been opened by me. Wal~mart will take back itemes without a receipt so this is why I do this. People get really mad and give me all the dirty looks they have but I don't care as I'm not about to let someone screw over Wal~mart on a product that does not have a very high markup to begin with. I did this very thing for a customer with windows XP. His girlfriend claimed he was a computer genius, blah, blah, blah. He was pretty much computer illiterate if you ask me but he had enough brains to figure out how to make a nice little back up cd for his use. I gave them a new copy of XP but they were still mad at me, oh well!!

You could get lucky.

I returned my 6 month old PS2 there last year that kacked for no good reason. It was out of warranty, and they didn't even look in the box when I returned it! I could have kept the controller and other assorted parts, and they would have never known, 'cause I paid cash.

I always looked in the box when I was an electronics salesman. :)

I was going to see if I could get lucky and get some stump who works at Wal-Mart to return it. But, I don't want to get anyone fired (even a stump) so I'll either keep it or sell it on Ebay :\
