VIA C3 is really cheap. Does it support SMP? Can I put 2 on ASUS CUV4X-D and inexpensive SMP?

TIA

i'm thinking no, you can't use them in an SMP configuration but someone else prove me wrong. they might be easy to find/cheap in Taiwan, but you can't really buy them anywhere here in the USA. For Socket-370, you pretty much have to go with Pentium III for SMP.

It wouldn't surprise me if a single P3 could out-muscle two of
those VIA C3's. SMP will do little if what you start with is
garbage in the first place...

Nope, the C3 doesn't support SMP. The only real reason you'd want a C3 anyways is the low power consumption. If you absolutely need a totally silent system, they'll run with a heatsink only - no fan.
