Does usps provide delivery confirmation option w/ First Class mail now?

Yes, but the thickest part of the envelope must be at least 0.75" thick. So, any bubble envelope or small box would qualify. A flat envelope stuffed with a lot papers/manuals that breaks the 0.75" threshold would also qualify. A typical business envelope with a few sheets would NOT qualify for the delivery confirmation option. Cost is 55 cents for retail or 13 cents for self-printed electronic barcodes.

So they changed this recently? I was always informed you need to ship it USPS Priority ($3.50) then you can add on delivery confirmation, I never did like that.

Yep, this was one of the few positives the July 1st postage policy revisions offered. The USPS point of sale terminals have been reprogrammed to accept delivery confirmation for first class, so there shouldn't be any heated debates with the clueless clerks. Also, the terminals now recognize the syntax of electronic barcodes so you'll be charged the appropriate fee as well.

Cool, thanks for letting us know. This is the ONLY good news I think but at least it's something.

i saw at the post office like two weeks ago that they do provide DC for first class.... but it cost $.50.
