I have a relatively small item coming via USPS First-Class Package Service today. Will they put it in my mailbox, or give the notice to pick up tomorrow. I'm pretty sure the package should fit in my mailbox.

USPS delivers 1st class, Priority, even express sometimes even if it DOESN'T fit in the mailbox... (hint: They MAKE it fit 😡)

They always stick them in my mailbox. Or just leave it at my door if it doesn't fit. Unless they require a signature, I never have to actually go to the post office for anything.

 I'd prefer they do that. The item won't be damaged and I'd rather have it tonight than wait for tomorrow...

Cool, my girl will get her present tonight 🙂

Usually, the usps packages I get a big and need a signature, so they leave the card.

if it wont fit in the box they leave it by the door unless signature service was requested (usually on insured parcels)

They tried doing the leave it at the door one time back when I lived in a not so neighborhood. It was stolen immediately. I had to complaint to the post master at my local branch. They never did that again. Depending on the neighborhood and house, sometimes it's better to leave a pick-up notice at the door rather than the actual package.
