Does using the 'Reset 'button too often harm hardware?....

...my comp has been freezing during Quake 3 recently and pressing reset is the only way out ( ctrl+alt+delete doesnt work)

Did it about 4 times today, a few yesterday. Does it harm hardware or is it just hassle ?

I will reinstall quake 3 anyway, see if that fixes it.

It's just a hassle. I used to have to reset all the time with my old K6-III when I overclocked it too high. I never had any hardware failures or anything because of it.

Hardware? No.... software possibly.... if your PC is accessing a system file while it locks up it can corrupt it. But thats the lockups not the reset that would cause that.
