Does US mail really get delivered/processed on Saturdays to?

Yes, I have had people sent me mail on a Saturday. Even though the post office retail lobbies were closed, the envelope was post marked that same Saturday. My home and PO Box also receive USPS mail on Saturdays as well.
 
If you ship Express Mail, you get it delivered on SUNDAY too....

Am I right to think that there are 6 business days a week for mail...?

The Post Office processes whatever they get in their office at Saturday before 12 noon, atleast on LI.

And I love USPS. 😉
 
At the PO here they close at 5 on Saturdays, but I think yuo can leave any mail you have that'll fit in their box(under one lb) by 6 or 6:30 and it'll be postmarked the same day. I've sent packages out around 5 PM Saturday here on the west coast and they've arrived on Monday on the east coast
 
I heard somewhere that they were thinking of ditching mail on saturdays, too. That would suck.
 
Also, most regional distribution centers actually process and sort mail 7 days a week. Ask any delivery person how much more mail they have to deliver on a Monday!

This was in the news a couple months ago. They decided to keep delivering.
 
Welcome to the United States. Your junk mail is reliably delivered 6 days a week.

note: there is word that the USPS may STOP saturday deliveries cuz of budget crap... either they're not making enuf, or losing some, i dunno.

but that was months ago, i don't know the latest.
 
i sold something here, shipped it saturday overnight and they got it on sunday. I kid you not. I was like WTF? how did you get my product today?

Sweet! I got something once on a saturday and thought "Hmm, I guess they delivered it late friday evening", but then after seeing something again yesterday I had to be sure. That truly is the cat's meow.
