Does UPS still suck?

i bought an 20.1" LCD monitor from dell home and forgot to get them to ship it via fed ex. Is there free shipping fed ex or UPS? This scares me, i dropped $640 on this thing and i dont want bad pixels to be on it because the carrier banged it around during shipping. If there free shipping is UPS, i have another question. I have not used UPS in over five years, have they improved any? or will my package still be dragged behind the truck on a gravel road?
 
Whenever I took advantage of Dell's free ground shipping they have used Airborne Express, FedEx and UPS.

Wait until it ships then check your order status which should have a tracking number.

well cancel your order and get it 40 bucks cheaper(or so I saw lately)

In fact mine JUSt shipped from Dell and its going via UPS. pisses me off cause I would ahve had it THIS weekend if UPS was open on Sat :| Ill let ya know how things turn out
