I'll set you up with a little bit of a story, incase you're wondering. I purchased a brand new Harman/Kardon AVR435 receiver from jr.com for $479.99 Tuesday night around 9:30pm. In retrospect, I find it funny because I called and inquired about a Friday sale they had last week in which the receiver was marked down to $449.99 (free ship). I asked if I could somehow take advantage of this deal after the fact. They said no, I said ok, and placed my order (didn't hurt to ask, but I'm not going to be an ass about it).
Fast forward to about 30 minutes ago, when I happen across a new price for the same receiver at the same jr.com website. $399.99 (free ship)!!! To make it worse, it noted the new savings on 6/28, Wednesday, the day after I ordered, and the day after they wouldn't mark it down to $449.99 for me 🙂.
They seem to have a perfectly fine return policy on unopened items, but require an RMA. I plan on calling them later this morning when they open to see if they'll match the new price, afterall it is $80 I'll save. If they don't match, I'm sending the thing back when I get it on Monday.
My question herein lies: can I refuse the shipment with UPS, only writing the RMA number on the box before they put it back on the truck? Or will UPS not let me do that, and I have to ship it back myself? Not too big of a worry, I can ship it back via work for free (to me anyway). Either way, I'll save my $80 before it's said and done.
