Does Unreal run SLOWER with 160mb memory?

I recently upgraded my memory from 96mb to 160mb. Before this Unreal (the original game - not UT!) ran about 43fps on the flyby timedemo with resolution at 1024x768x16 on my Intel 450 and Geforce2 MX.

But now since the memory upgrade, it runs SLOWER --- about 37fps! What's more unusual is that as I go down on resolution, say 800x600 or 640x480, it runs EVEN SLOWER! At 640x480x16 I was only able to get 24fps!!!

It seems I remember reading something a good while back that above a certain amount of memory that Unreal would choke down. I'm going to pull out some memory and see if this helps. If anybody has had this problem please post!

I doubt that very much. You might have gotten a bad stick or the wrong kind of RAM (hence it's slowing the rest of your RAM down). Unreal loves RAM and will eat anything it can get.
