Does TV TUNER card have similar function as Video Card?

I am thinking to buy a TV Tuner card. But it may cause me to buy an additional Video Card to use it. Really?

And most TV Tuner card has no video output. So it is impossible to record movie to Cassette? I mean since movies in TV channel has lots of AD, if I can first record it in hard drive and get rid of AD, then I can record to Vedio cassette from Vidio output. Is any better method without buy an 2nd VCR?

TV tuner cards need your noraml video card in order to work... so just check before you buy your TV tuner card if it will work with your existing video card...

I don't think the ATI TV tuner works well with non-ATI video cards... I have heard a lot of complaints about this... if u are looking at the ATI one, better check around to make sure if it will work...

TV tuner cards can only capture video and tv input... They don't have output capabilities.

What video card do you have?

Some video cards have a tv out which is a way to output video. If you already have a video card that you like that doesn't have tv out but you want to be able to have multimedia capabilities i suggest this:

Buy a tv tuner - this will give you tv and the ability to import video
Buy a scan convertor - this is a device that converts vga signals like your monitor to a tv signal. Most scan convertors will be much better quality then tv out functions on video cards.

Once you have those two pieces of equipment you can upgrade your video card in the future and not have to worry about looking for tv tuners and tv out functions on the video card... This is at least what i did.

oh yeah...

If you have a crappy video card and need to upgrade anyway i'd suggest getting the all in wonder radeon card... it has everything feature i mentioned above... and has great quality stuff...
