Does Transcend make good external hard drives?

I will translate your post title to : Does Transcend make/use good enclosures and use reliable drives (which are manufactured by others) ?

Just trying to make the point that they may put Seagate or Samsung or whatever is more convenient, and it may change by manufactured lots. That said, I do not have any experience with them, never heard of them in hard drive context.

I have to assume that if you want it just for backup, it should be just fine.

I have always tried to buy enclosure and drive separately to pick and choose what I want, but I think right now, finding a good enclosure for USB3 (if that is what you want) may not be that easy. I have seen comments about some products out there labeled as USB3 that do not have good feedback posts.
