Does this type of cable cord exist?

I like to watch movies and t.v shows on my computer, but it's just not the same as watching it on a 50 inch television. What I require is a cord that would transfer a Windows Media Player video playing on my computer, to my DLP television. (Both are in the same room)

Does something like this exist? If so, how much is this going to cost me?

Thanks,

Mike

What outputs does your video card have? What inputs does your tv have? If it's a newer TV, it probably has a DVI or HDMI input and if that's the case, you can use your TV like a monitor. If not, you can get a video card with an s-video out (I don't know if they have component out yet on VIVO video cards) and hook up your tv that way.

If at all possible, get a component adapter for your video card. If I remember correctly, [newer] ATI cards use DVI>Component and nVidia uses s-video>component. They shouldn't be more than $20 if your card didn't come with it. Then you just need to get a set of component cables from walmart or wherever.

DVI to HDMI is probably your best bet if you have those inputs on your TV. If your TV has DVI, that would work well too.

If those are not options, VGA or Component would be the next course to take.

IT has a HDMI and DVI. (It's a 2,500 Samsung dLP). My computer is quite old, around 4 years maybe. It runs on an average 64 mb Nvidia MX (Also known as crap). Is my dream still attainable?

If your video card has DVI you're all set. If not you may have to upgrade it to something with DVI or a component adapter.

You can get a much better video card that the one you have with DVI output for $25. Check newegg. I also recommend monoprice.com for the DVI to DVI cable you are gogin to need afterwards.

i don't know about WMP, but I imagine that it would be like Cyberlink PowerDVD. and I frequently send that window to the TV via a S-video cable. I can only assume the same would be true with DVI and HDTV. Even my Geforce 6200 has DVI, as well as VGA and S-video.
