Does this temps of CPU and GPU are safe?

Hello,I want to know weather this temps are normal for my rig which is 7 months old and Overclocked not ye and never yet.I mainly uses my pc for gaming and do folding (most of the time)using gpu and cpu .My processor temps used to be average about 73 degree but today i seeing it is reaching 80degree.My CPU:I5 4590S and GPU:Sapphire r9 270x dual x
Both at stock speed.

Additional info:
I use my pc about 7 hours a day on average(Folding automatically start when pc start on)
Today Outside Temperature is 16 degree(measured by google) and My room temp is 21.3 degree(measured by chinese wall clock)
I have 4 cheap casing fan in my casing which help to degrade only avg.1 degree temp all togather.Should i upgrade to CM Xtraflo(i dont mind sound if i get best performance)?
Should i need to buy after market cooler?(FYI I will never do oc in my pc )
Now i am afraid should i stop folding for longevity for my pc?What steps should i take?

Haswell chips are fine to ~100C. And they will automatically throttle down speed if they get too high/hot. So you are completely fine at 80C, no worries.

The only thing I would suggest is to make sure your heatsink/fan isn't clogged up with dust. If very dusty it has a hard time moving air through the fins and therefore cannot cool properly. This usually takes years to happen, but you can check and blow it out if it's dusty.

That does seem a little high... 80C for a stock CPU.

OP, if I were you, I'd dismount the CPU cooling fan, clean the old TIM off the CPU, reapply and reseat the cooler. Along with that, I would blow out the rest of the case and make sure the case fan blades are clean.

Denithor is correct... your chip is good to 100C, but that's not where I would want it to run.

I'm assuming you are only using the stock Intel cooler... it's not a bad cooler but it can be a little tricky to seat and lock down properly. You could drop $30 or so for a CM 212 Evo if money is no object, but the Intel cooler should be doing the job.

If you temps jumped from 73->80 suddenly, something might be wrong and you should check things out. Or the folding program was updated and is now stressing out the cpu more effectively.

I'm wondering if we're all talking about the same thing...I took a peek at the pictures he posted and they're all from a GPU, an Intel 4600 chip and a hint of Radeon R9 200 series. I don't see anything from a CPU. Anyway, not uncommon for either a CPU or GPU to hit 80c with a stock cooler under heavy loads like folding.

The stock cooler Intel is offering today is terrible, it's like a 35watt unit. Not at all acceptable for 65-90watt CPU's. I just built a system and had serious throttling issues hitting 100c+ on a stock 4790k. I dropped temps by 35c putting on a real heatsink from old Intel. It doesn't even have heatpipes, just a bigger better chunk of metal.

'Corse this was from a Core 2, back at 90-125watt and I had to file out the mounting arms just a hair to fit the newer socket (72mm vs 75mm square). And then smash the heck out of the upper fins to cram it into my tiny ITX case, but it works like a champ on my 90watt CPU. Even stays a whisper quiet 1,200RPM at idle (and a screaming 3,000RPM max load).

For some TIMs -- at least for certain TIM of "carbon-crystal-dust" -- drying out doesn't matter. The particles stay in place; the oils are supposed to dry out; and the oil -- silly-conn or other doesn't count for anything.

Just me. If using currently the stock-cooler, I'd replace it. The replacement likely will give you a 10C improvement -- at least. Personally, I'd feel more comfortable if you could bring the load temperature below 70C for the processor, and that may be very easy. Another member brought his 4790K down to 56C at load with special attentions to a Hydro H80 cooler. That cooler can be matched by the top-performing heatpipe coolers -- not necessarily the largest (or double-tower) of those available. Put another way -- 60's C should be fairly easy.

Next -- the GPU. That's about normal for more recent vid-card releases such as yours -- what's a 270 Radeon? Two years old? Less? It's normal for stock cooling solutions of vid cards that are not top-tier with "hybrid" cooling allowing hookup to a water-loop out of the box.

Right now, I'm playing around with a brand-spanky-new MSI Gaming GTX 970 "4g" Gold LE. These cards whip the a** off earlier gen NVidia cards -- more or less, use less power and run cooler. I can't get it to crack 60C with 90+ % gaming load if I attend to the user-defined fan control. You can do some mighty astounding overclocks, or so the review at HardOCP profoundly demonstrates.

Replace the CPU cooler with a decent heatpipe cooler. 212 EVO may cost you up to $30 -- or SO. You can get an eVGA ACX cooler for $55, and that one beats out $80 double-tower coolers like the D14 by an "author-user-tested" verification. (Me.)

If you don't overclock and don't plan to as you say, get the freakin' EVO.

You said you have 4 case fans... adding more probably won't help very much (speaking from experience.) If you are able to install bigger fans, that may help, and as I mentioned, make sure the fans and specifically the fan blades are clean.

I still think you should try to repaste and reseat your existing cooler. It'll take 10 minutes and won't cost you anything but a tube of TIM.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some new PC parts when I get the chance, but before you spend money needlessly, let's find out what the problem is. If you could upgrade the fans, that would be a great long-term improvement.

Charlie98 is right here. 4 case fans is plenty if they have any power at all. As long as you have fans moving air in a consistent direction, they are doing what they need to do.

The CPU fan is what is going to keep the CPU cool. A 212 EVO will give you a good improvement over the stock cooler. Don't expect miracles, but for the price it is very hard to beat.

Just letting u know my system update:Today i run prime 95 for 11 hours where my Avg temp was 89C and after doing folding 7 hours,Avg temp is 69C. Thank you all for your time
