does this tea kettle look like hitler?

hello on the box it shows a black stripe on the body of the kettle,mine does not have it ??

My response:
It's a reflection.

To me, it looks like Michael Graves' photographer set up those light-scattering panels on each side. The dark area between hides the photographer's camera so it doesn't appear in the reflection.

The JC Penney store I bought it at had one on display. The only black parts were on the lid and handle.

Remember when I said people would be less enthused with the actual teapot than the marketing shot for that very reason? It's what makes it so easy to see it as a caricature of a person. It could be a tie, dark shirt under vest, etc. Without it the illusion is less complete.

heh, I missed this earlier and did not realize that at all until the above post.

I kinda liked the Hitler kettle...now, not so much.
