Does this sound like it was written by a 6th grader?

My local newspaper has recently begun publishing letters from children, about the war. This one was in today's paper. Am i the only one who doesn't believe a 6th grader wrote this???

Dear Saddam Hussein,
GET OUT!!! Leave Iraq and its people alone. Stop funding terrorists and put down your weapons. Stop fighting and resisting us... and no one else will be hurt or killed. Destroy the chemical weapons and weapons of mass destruction. You have committed crimes against humanity. You have endangered the lives of thousands of people. Men, women and children have been killed to further your own ends. How could you do things like this? How could you be so inhuman? You will bring Iraq to its downfall. -Reuben, grade 6

I believe 6th graders can write like this. I've seen younger people write like this all the time.

What were the other letters it published by kids? I'd like to compare.

Either way it doesn't really matter, the kids are just regurgitating whatever thier parents told them to beleive.

Why does the paper bother? It isn't like these kids have any idea what they are talking about or how it really applies to their life.

I know young kids can write like this, but the phrase "to further your own ends" isn't usually in the 6th grade vernacular, even for a well-read 6th grader.

pretty funny. I was watching c-span maybe a week ago where they had call ins and people kept putting their kids on. It was obvious that almost all of the kids were reading something from paper that they did not write.
