while comments made by Coup27 have not. Although I am grateful for the OCZ blog link he provided.
As Eug has already outlined, OCZ implements many shoddy business practices and will try and get away with something hoping that they are not found out. People comment that there are far too many OCZ haters, but you simply cannot get a reputation like that for no reason.

Even if you remove the SF link, the first batch of SSD's OCZ launched were utter garbage. There is no way in all thats holy that those drives went through any form of serious testing or validation. Yet OCZ released those drives wanting to be first to market and then refused to accept that the JMicron controller was complete cack.

It wasn't until the first gen X25-M arrived and showed us all how it should be done that OCZ upped their game.

People post horror stories about OCZ drives all over the web. There is simply not the volume of problems with Crucial, Intel or Samsung SSDs.

I have deployed 4 Intel SSDs now and not one has ever missed a beat. If i could afford to, I would buy a load of OCZ drives just to see what happens.

My comment about you, Coup27 was unfair and I am sorry for that. You seem like a naysayer but you support your comments with solid statements.

Even if OCZ's third generation of SSD's work well, it does not absolve them from selling broken crap in the product's first generation. I agree with you very much on that.

It is possible there are more negative comments about OCZ drives due to a larger proportion of OCZ sales than the other companies. OCZ drives seem to be marketed heavier and more prevalent on the market.

If you go to your local computer store you will find that ocz drives permeate the shelves. This is why I'm using one as it was all that was available when my adata ssd died and I needed an immediate replacement. The ocz drive isn't as fast as the adata drive was even though both are using the same sf1222 controller. I've cloned this windows build onto the replacement adata drive just in case the ocz goes down. Although I was tempted to raid the two drives I'm just going to keep it in reserve.

I maybe in the minority here but personally I never buy computer components from stores. Even if I went to them I doubt I would see any SSDs there.
