Does this sock. 478 fan work on P4s?

Well, I broke my Heatsink Retention Cage on an old MB, and instead of buying a new one for the stock HSF, I bought a HS/F that comes with one. However, I found out after ordering that it says "rackmount" under compatability. It was filtered as a 478! Will it work on my socket 478 MB?

I don't think that will work. If you want you can get a replacment for the part you broke at KDcomputers, they have a replacment one that will use the standard heatsink or amd clip type heatsinks and it is made of metal and is only $5.00.

So this part will definetally not work on P4(478) MBs?

Looked in KDC, and, oddly enough, found a HS/F that looks almost identical (in its physical connection to the MB) also listed under Socket 478. Are you shure 1U rckmount isn't compatible for 478?
