Yes, there is certainly a profit. The ads from FS/FT and Hot Deals alone will more than cover the cost of the server on which AnandTech, DailyTech, and all its subs are hosted on. That, and much more. That's just from the forums. Then there are the reviews, paid sponsors (?) and other such revenue. Anand and his partners (?) are certainly making money.
