Does this selection of parts look ok?

Hi,
I'm about to build a new pc, looking for someone to review my part picks. I've already got a case to use so I didn't include one in this. Also, I have two 300 gig drives I'm going to set up as RAID 1 hopefully to install the operating system on. Does the rest of this look ok? Anything I should really change out? This won't be used for a gaming system really other than to maybe play oblivion once in a rare while. Mostly what I'll be doing is ripping and compressing audio and dvds. I don't plan on overclocking either.

I threw the whole order together on newegg for now:

No, the 86xx line is terrible for gaming, the 7900GS is a much better performer.

Since you're not overclocking, you don't need 800mhz memory, or that 965 based board. Unless you plan on putting in a 1333mhz FSB processor later (one of the newest Core 2 Duos) you'd be perfectly fine with a cheaper 945 based motherboard. Your memory will run at 533mhz unless you're overclocking, so anything beyond that is overkill, but slower memory isn't always cheaper, so you may already have the better deal.

I grabbed most of this stuff from the arstechnica.com system guides page. As far as overclocking goes ... would what I've got pulled together so far do well with that? I guess I should dismiss that out of hand. I haven't built a computer in a long time and just associate overclocked with unstable and crashing a lot. Reading around a bit I see that's not necessarily true.

If I want to try it should I be adding better cooling, or maybe a different case (this is the one I have ... http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=92650 ) only using because my brother gave it to me. His power supply died one saturday, so he bought that case because at best buythe case + power supply was cheaper than buying a power supply alone. He took the ps out and gave me the case.

What you have now will overclock very nicely, you likely won't even need to increase your voltage or use anything fancier than the stock Intel cooler to get that chip to 3.0-3.2Ghz. Intel's stock cooler is actually pretty good, it seems they learned a lot about cooling from the fiery Netburst days.

What you have here seems to be the ideal budget overclocking setup of about three months ago, which is still very good. I really don't know a ton about what's the best deal right now or if going to a P35 board would be worth the price, etc, hopefully someone else will chime in soon. Actually I'm surprised they haven't already, but anyway, here's a bump for you, you should get a more knowledgable answer to your original question soon enough.
