RIG:

AMD X2 6100+ @ 3.31 ghz
OCZ Fatal1ty DDR800 @ 420 mhz 5-4-4-15 @ 2.1v
8800GTS 640 @ 600/900 Rivatuner'd
OCZ 550 Watt PSU
VISTA 64 w sp1
178.13 drivers

Runs stable as hell so i run 3dmark 06 and get a 9100 .... why does that "seem" so low

I ignored it because i can still play alll the new games at highish settings @ 1680x1050 but still it irks me that its so low? Or is that low?

:D

~~~EDIT:~~~ I updated to the new drivers and installed the new rivatuner. Then ran the test a few more times, scored a 10,140
My 8800GTS 320MB @ 650/1500/2000 hit 11k+ in 3DMark06 with a E2180 @ 3150MHz.
I know when I was running it on a 2.6GHz AMD X2 it was much lower.
I'm not sure, but maybe the X2 cpu doesn't scale well at higher clocks?
3dmark 06 is very cpu sensitive... If you want a high score, pop a high clocked c2duo or quad in your rig and watch that score climb
What command rate is your memory running at? (1T or 2T)
What operating system are you running?
Do you have the latest video drivers?
What are the subscores? (SM 2.0, SM 3.0, AND CPU)
Hmmm.....not sure on that, i get around 9400 3dMarks on the rig in my signature and nothing is overclocked on my system.
Yeah it looks like my CPU is still bottlenecking everything
just did some research and with an OC'd intel E8400 people are averaging 11xxx scores (47xx SM2 , 47xx SM3, and 36xx CPU)
So yeah my CPU is really getting owned here... and its the fastest X2 Made... any ideas? Something odd here.
Athlon X2 5000+ @ 3.08 GHz with an overclocked HD3850 gets: 4417, 4820, 2203, 9916, and these scores aren't exactly run on a fresh install of Vista. I'd say your score looks about right, since in some cases my overclocked HD3850 can be faster than your 8800GTS 640MB. But like previously mentioned, your score will jump up with a faster processor. 3DMark06 has a single test that only benches the processor, so this test can easily bring your score up if you use a better processor. However a slightly faster processor (like an E2xxx series) wouldn't have as big of an effect on your 3D scores or your framerate. Just look at the scores you posted:
47xx SM2, 47xx SM3, and 36xx CPU for an 8800GTs 640MB w/ faster processor
46xx SM2, 47xx SM3, and 23xx CPU for an 8800GTS 640mb/your current processor
The difference in scores is only coming from the processor test, in which 3DMark tests how fast your processor is by trying to render 3D graphics with the CPU only. Otherwise, your SM2 and SM3 scores are pretty much the same, meaning your framerates are pretty much the same.
If you are really worried about your CPU score, then upgrade to a Phenom, since the additional cores will help you out more than a higher clock speed.
Yeah this makes sense , basically the same chip @ the same clock speed except my memory is at 2T
My question is: are you running everything on default? Are you keeping your driver on "performance"?
Should be your CPU. I get 11463 Marks with an E4300@3,1GHz, 2 x 1 GB DDR2-800@4-4-4-12-16, and a 8800 GTS 640@650/1000. Windows XP SP2....
Yeah Bolle you're right, its a shame that this bench isnt AMD friendly because i cant really get a faster X2 solution
