Thanks to anyone who bothers reading all this!
I have overclocked my rig and want to make sure I am not wrecking anything.
Bios settings:
CPU 250mhz, Dram 320z, AGP/PCI 66.66/33/33, CPU VCore Voltage (Auto -asus probe shows it as 1.6), DDR ref voltage (Auto),
AGP VDDQ Voltage 1.50v, Performance mode (standard), CPUID max value (Disabled), HT enabled, mam enabled,
Dram cas latency 2, Precharge 2, Cas delay 2, Precharge delay 5 Dramm burst 8, Dram idle and refresh (auto).
Bios shows cpu temp at 31c at idle and mb 26c. Asus probe shows cpu temp 22c idle 38c under load (ie prime 95), mb 26c idle and 28c under load. My room is very cool, but these temps do not seem realistic. At stock settings Asus probe temps are 21c idle, 36c under load.
All seems stable on prime 95. Only bench I ran 3dmark 2001se went from 15150 to 16100 so some gain anyways.
System:
P2.4c with zalman cnps 7000a - alcu hsf on low speed, Asus p4p800, kingston 3500 hyper x 265mb x 2, 9700pro with zalman zm80a heatpipe with zalman 92mm fan on low setting blowing over it (on fb123 with adjustable bracket), Seagate barracuda IV 80bg, Sonota case, rear fan plugged into "fan only" so low speed.
When I first got the system I think I over heated the hd, so I can now hear it seeking - but by rearranging all the wiring etc. I think airflow problems are solved, but will likely get the front case fan and new hd one day. Would a 80mm vantec stealth case fan (under powered a little for silence) likely be sufficient for the drives? I have one lying around.
I would like to oc my vid card next, but first - - - does this look ok, especially to anyone familiar with the asus p4p800 and would this likely be enough cooling to disapate the extra heat created by oc of the gpu?
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks (I know anyone whos knows this little probably should not oc)
