does this normally happen with online credit payments

Capital one took my online payment out of my bank account yesterday morning, but wont post it to my credit card until tom. morning

something seems wrong about this, because not only do i not get interest while its in my bank, but im being charged on interest when they have my money (now i know a day or two isnt a lot, but it doesnt seem legal to me)

Yep. Most will show the date of posting as the date of transfer.

hopefully, finally got a hold of someone, she is claiming their payment center has been having technical difficulties for 2 days and therefor cannot allow payments to go to cards yet

i understand normally it takes a couple days, but usually when they take it out of your bank account it goes right to your card

My bank mails some of my "e" payments which can take 5 days to post, but the funds are withdrawn immediately. I think this is how banks make money on e-payments.

Sounds like you might have a case if it's an issue of paying on time.
