Can you wean yourself off of nicotine with pot? Since it is rather easy to quit smoking weed, you can quit totally as soon as you replace cigs with weed for a while. Does that work?

It might but for some reason it seems similar to taking heroin to help you kick your methadone addiction :)

Weed is much, much, much less addictive than nicotine. I've seen smokers that could barely think they were fiending for a cigarette so badly. never seen that happen with somebody that doesn't have weed. Hell, I smoke like 2 or 3 times a week (weed) but if i dont have any, i dont really care...

I find this all rather ironic coming from the mouth of someone who cannot yet legally purchase tobacco.

Get a clue, kid.

LOL.

Famous last words..."I can quit anytime...really! I can". Displacing one habit with another one is not normally how one breaks addiction.

I have actually done this before and it worked. I didn't replace cig's with pot, I just rewarded myself with pot. After going all day without a cig, I would be pretty wound up and stressed out, so i'd smoke a bit of pot. You still get to smoke something, and it takes the edge off, plus I don't get addicted to it, others may.. but I have always been able to smoke it in moderation. It worked well for me.

I don't see how smoking pot would provide a fix for the withdrawl symptoms from the cigs. My guess is that you would be high and reeeeaaalllllly craving a cigarette. Then again I don't smoke, so what do I know?

In high school, I had to take health as a freshman. Our teacher (the weightlifting instructor) told us that you can stop smoking by chewing tobacco.

Well, like I said... it's not really replacing cig's. It just helped me keep my mind off them.

That's pretty much the point of it. :)
I can't imagine somebody smoking weed as often as one would smoke a cig. :Q

Have you tried to quite smoking weed? Alot of people say that weed is a steeping stone to harder drugs. And I have seen people who were pot smokers who couldn't funciton anymore unless they were on it. Why not do somehting legal like the patch, or gum, or hell, make a bet with a firend also trying to quite that who ever smokes a cig next, has to but the other a new computer or car stero or somehting expensive.

If it did work which is doubtful, it would be pretty hard to accomplish because it is expensive, not advisable to smoke in public, and probably not acceptable by most employers.

Actually weed isn't physically addictive (nicotine is). The "people you've seen who couldn't function any more unless they were on it" are just very weak-willed if they can't stop smoking it whereas you will actually go through physical withdrawl when trying to kick nicotine. Just for the record.
