Recently a few of my old HS friends contacted me. It was good hearing from them and all, but now they want to hang out all the time. I get calls asking me if I want to hang out, and I don't. I left HS behind 8 years ago. We have nothing in common now. They do drugs and go to bars and pick up women. I have no desire to do either of those things.
I feel like such a jerk because they are nice people, but we don't connect anymore.
I don't want to be rude and tell them to stop calling, or that I don't want to hang out, so I just don't return their calls.
 
I've been in the same boat two or three times in the last few years. You're not an ass, you've just grown up. The last time a guy I have't seen in 15 years wanted to know if I would join up with the old group at a strip bar. Yeah...the wife would go for that :roll:
 
just say what's on your mind. the easiest way to get rid of a problem is to say the truth. don't even feel guilty about it. it will all resolve itself eventually mmkoi

I have a partner and I enjoy spending all my time with him.
I don't need tons of friends, old or new.
 
I didn't vote because your poll options suck.

But I would say that if you cared a shred for these people, you'd be honest about it and let them know where you stand. Completely ignoring them sends an even stronger message; that you're a prick now.

I drink but I don't party and what I meant by sex is hook up with girls and things of that nature. I don't hook up and I don't take people home.

I don't mean cocaine or meth. They smoke weed and do bars of some anxiety drug.

I didn't know there was a rule against nice people picking up women after a night of drinking...

I sometimes will smoke a bowl, go get drunk at the bar, then try to find a girl... and most people consider me a nice guy.
 
Youre doing the right thing, just tell them you changed and you arent into those things anymore or whatever

Sounds like a horrible lifestyle to me anyway (party, drinking and hooking up with random women that is)
