i want soemthing that has two modes (ac with a diode would be awesome)

basically a bulb with a big resistor and heatsink inside, a small fan on one end, and a small, open tip on the other. the low temp mode should be good for bending small plexiglass pieces and melting hotglue or plastic, the high mode should be good for melting solder or brazing small stuff.

anyone know where i can get what i jsut described?

I had one of those - it never worked very well. It took a long time to heat up, you couldn't control the heat, and the temperature would fluctuate.

I have one of these now - it cost a bit more, but it works great.
