Is there such a thing as a laptop to desktop hard drive converter? I need to move files from a laptop drive from a dead laptop on to another computer

Yes. You can easily buy them, but as mentioned above, it might be worth it to spend $15 and get a 2.5mm USB2.0 external enclosure for the drive and net yourself a portable harddrive 😀

i think they're relatively cheap on ebay. i havent checked in a while though.. they were an integral part for tim wassons nintendo pc

I own two. They're cheap on ebay, just an IDE adapter for the laptop's 44 pin to the desktop's 40-pin and molex.

mini-ide to regular ide converter... it costs like 5 bux a local store... i think Computer Rennaisance has them...
