Does this diet work?

That's an extremely low amount of fat, difficult or impossible to do if you plan to eat much meat. You do need some dietary fat too, as already pointed out. If you're willing to count calories anyway, I don't see the point of restricting fat to such low levels. It seems to me the whole point of counting fat grams was to give lazy people one easy number that they could fixate on.

You're really at the stage where you need to ramp up the cardio to keep the weight loss going. You can drop the calories fairly low during the week and bump them to maintenance or above once or twice a week, increasing as you get leaner. That's one of the little things you can do to appease your body as it starts getting pissed that your bodyfat is getting too low for its liking. But in terms of the big picture, you can't really fool it. Lift weights too.

Going for that Ethiopian look?

No doubt. I'm an inch or so shorter than he is and hovering around 195-200 and I'm trying to gain another 5 or so pounds. I was 180 at one point and I looked emaciated.

180lbs on a 6'3" frame would look gaunt, imo.

6'3 180... damn im 5'11 210 in good health. Why would you want to go from skinny to ethiopian.

Maybe all fat no muscle?
I'm 5' 9" and 155 or so, and could do with improving, although I'm not sure losing weight with dieting is the way to go, more getting fitter with cardio, rather than dieting.

I know a few guys who have had success with this diet in cutting weight for competition. Afterwards watching your diet and keeping a strong workout will keep the weight off.

Sacred Heart Medical Diet
...

AKA the Cabbage Soup Diet... but without the cabbage... 😕

Yup, another unhealthy urban legend of a "diet:"

Keeping fats extremely low is not a good way to diet. Fat doesn't make you fat, excess calories make you fat, no matter what the source.

Healthy fats are important to your body, and you should not leave them out of your diet. See the links in my sig for more info.
