Does the Zalman CNPS7000-CuAl Cooler fit on the DFI LanParty NFII board?

The CNPS7000-CuAl will not fit because it will only mount on Socket478 Intel board and the new socket754 AMD boards. However, the new Zalman CNPS7000A-CuAl might work with it.

I didn't find the board list on Zalman's list of compatible boards but you can check this page here to check what to look for on possible obstructions that would prevent you from using the cooler.

The new version uses the four through-holes in the mobo to attach, doesn't it? The DFI NFII LanParty doesn't appear to have them, so that looks like a no-go. You could still go with a clip-on Thermalright if you're just looking for a high-performance/low-noise setup...

the NF2 version of the DFI LanParty does not have any mounting holes around the socket.

You may use just about any clip-on hs like an SLK or smaller.

WOW! I can't believe any company making motherboards would NOT put the 4 mounting holes around the socket. I wonder what the reason is?

AMD no longer mandates that the holes be on the board. The LanParty NF2 isn't the only board without them, though it seems to be the only 'top-end' board without them.

They know from customers and reviewers that the mount holes really should find their way onto the next revision, so we'll wait and see what they come up with =)

this board does do just as well with a high end clip-on hs like an SLK-800A/900A, and performs extremely well with an SK-7 on it also.
