if no one replies ask here

i have the 7000 in my LP and my guess is that 7700 would fit. this is because the wide 120mm part of the fan starts much higher so it wont touch anything on the mobo. the only concern is if you are running aftermarket GPU cooling.

I accidently bought one for my new computer (stupid me). It was so big that I didn't even try to use it. I am using an Asus A8V deluxe.

It should fit provided there's nothing (memory, caps, etc.) above 1.5 inches in height within the radius of around 2.75 inches from the center of the CPU.

e.g. DDR memory when installed onto my MB is 1 inch < 1.5 inch tall. So if everything is below that within the said radius then you should be good to go.

P.S. There should be enough clearance (2.75 inches) between the center of the CPU and your PSU when installed so even if your motherboard can accomodate the CNPS7700, your case may not.

I have the same board: the DFI Lanparty UT

I'm not exactly up to speed on CPU fans. Is the Zalman 7700 a good fan to use when OCing an Athlon 64 2800+? Should I go with an XP-120 instead?

Was looking into cases/PSUs for this board and came across the Antec Solution SLK3700AMB ATX Mid Tower Case. I can get it for $56 + S&H, which seems like a good enough deal to me. Anyone have this case?

Refer to this link. I assume the list is still a work in progress.

Note: As previously mentioned, some cases may position a motherboard [when installed] too close to the PSU than others. So keep in mind that eventhough the 7700 series may be compatible with one of the motherboards listed, it may not be compatible with some cases.

General requirements for CNPS7700's are (copy/pasted from Zalman):

"No motherboard components with a height greater than 39mm (1.53inch), as well as the PSU, disk drives, VGA card, and RAM should be present within a 68mm (2.68 inch) radius from the center of the CPU."

Do we need to remove the stock plastic mount around the CPU to mount hte XP-120?
