My friend has a Voodoo5 (ABIT mobo, 500mhz, 128 RAM) and is trying to play Half-Life using the MiniGL driver (3dfxgl.dll), but it keeps saying that the 'video mode is not supported'.
If he uses WickedGL, it does the same thing. This is strange because of two things:
1) In Quake1, WickedGL runs fine when named OpenGl32.dll.
2) Before he formatted his computer, he WAS able to play Half-Life with the MiniGL (3dfxgl.dll) and the Voodoo5. This must have been because he upgraded from a Voodoo3 -> Voodoo5 and there was some stuff mixed up between the drivers?
Just using the 'default Opengl' setting in Half_life yields extremely poor FPS. We are talking about nothing higher than 50. Most of the time it's in the 30's.
We can't figure it out. !H E L P!
