does the UK really hate the US or are they just really arrogant?

Just recently there was the US flag burning.

Then today I'm reading an article and come across this:
The Sun reports that it is indeed 500 million pounds ... or, in third-world U.S. currency, $750 million.

Really? USD is third world?

They're still mad about the American revolution - especially with July 4th coming up and everything. Wouldn't you be mad too if you were the best army in the world and you got beat by a bunch of farmers?

They are awash in Muslims over there and circling the drain. Don't expect them to have a realistic view of the world.

The Sun is a bastion of journalistic integrity.

This is true. You will always find whiners and complainers no matter what the issue or situation. The thing to remember is that the British are our best allies on the face of the planet and no other peoples destiny is as closely linked.

I believe that would be an attempt at humor.

Humor is when somebody does something to make their audience laugh. In this case, I suspect their audience is British people, who will laugh because it's a joke that makes fun of the USA.

Similar to how we in the US make fun of their silly accents and how they drink tea and have bad teeth.
