Does the TV-output on a GeForce2 and/or Radeon encode with macrovision?

I'd like to record a DVD to VHS cassette so we can watch it on the TV downstairs.

Do either GeForces or Radeons allow you to do that?

I know when you play a DVD through a VCR it can get macrovision which messes up the signal so you can't copy. But really it sucks watching DVDs on a 17" monitor when we have a 32" TV downstairs...so I'd like to record my collection to VHS so I can watch it downstairs without lugging my computer downstairs everytime....

Anyway to do this?

I suppose I could just buy a DVD player...but the nice ones are like $300-400 and I'm kinda broke atm....

Edit: Oh...I'll be using WinDVD 2000 2.3 as my player if that makes any difference...

have you ever checked out x10 they have a wireless video/audio sender and remote control that you could use to get the dvd picture and audio to your downstairs TV. Doesn't get you around the Macrovision for other purposes, but would solve your problem. they sell the kit for about $70.
