does the RSX in the PS3 do any folding at all?

some guy im talkin too seems pretty sure of himself that the reason PS3 is soo good at folding is because the Cell and the RSX are doing the work.

i was under the impression that nvidia's RSX which is based on G70 is just for the pretty graphics, while cell does the ball work.

G70 was poor at folding anyway wasnt it? hence why the folding team dropped it and took on ATi's R580 because it was significantly quicker.

Yep, that's what I heard as well. RSX is only for the visuals

On a side note, there will be an update released tomorrow for the Folding@home app for the PS3. Here is the gamespot article that mentions it.
