Does the Pentium III 533 cpu work with pc100 ram on an ABIT BE6 i440BX Slot-1 ATX motherboard?

any1 know? my friend has the ABIT BE6 i440BX Slot-1 ATX motherboard and pc100 ram... he can get a good deal on the p3 533 cpu so he's wondering if that setup would work? hehe... too bad he can't get my duron... i love how much i can overclock this thing...

P3 533 - that must be using 133 FSB. That means it will be "under clocked" to 400 if you pair it with 100FSB. You should get a P3 500 or 550 (be sure they use 100FSB). Then you can allways experiment with raising the FSB above 100 :)
Otherwise there should be no problem using newer P3's on that board.

Edit: Oh, and remember to get a FCPGA->Slot 1 converter card if it's a FC P3..

go for a 550 or 600, running on 133 mhz might be too much for your video card and memory. use a via chipset motherboard, bad memory performance, but you can run the processor at 133 mhz and the memory at 100
