Seems to me the $8 & change bottle of Loctite brown rear window defogger goop at a auto supply store is the ticket. Together with a need.

Most of us can afford both of those.

Hmm I am maybe going to have to coin a new phrase like 'anal-overclockers' ...don't take this too seriously anyways I am just providing a rebuttal point of view

LOL ,nothing 'anal' about it ,we just want a stable & reliable PC :p;)

Let's not be too hard on racerX, in his opinion, it's better to save the $ and chance the hassle involved with retracing the bridges. This is a better solution for him. My experience is a lot different, I had to retrace every few weeks until I used the Loctite stuff.(and had a near death experience with the core-small chip on the edge-but it sounded like a crack) If the pencil works for you, then more power to you!

This does not change the fact that the pencil does wear out. In fact the Loctite will wear out, too. But it will take much longer.

Thanks GaryTcs,
I will be the first one to admit if/when it fails on me, but I just haven't seen that happening. I am just kidding around anyways, I know an unstable system is a nightmare and re-penciling the traces every week or two would also be.
I guess maybe I just have a magic pencil :)
If I had a T-bird I would use the loctite too, but you have to see the whole idea of having a measley Duron 600 over 1ghz is only really fun if you aren't using peltiers and spending more on heatsinks/shims/pens than the chip itslef costs. I am using one of these now --->
Big Blue Ice block
I got it for $10 ...my sister bought me one of those SuperOrbs for Christmas (haha nice sister ...she didn't really even know what it was for! :) My system is really stable now the only time I had trouble with the bridges/traces was when I smudged them when I put the heatsink back on when I got a new mobo. It wasn't like a total disaster ...my system just would only run at 6x multiplier unitl I retraced it. Maybe I will get some loctite but this picture just scared me --> I don't want my Duron looking like this ---> crap?

Well, we were getting off point, and into the "kick racerX around because he doesn't agree with me" mode- and that helps nobody.

The paint is a bit sloppier, but I think mine looks better than that. Good Idea to avoid the orb, I bought one right after I got my duron- The temp never quit climbing!

i'm thinking about either doing the locite or conductive pen. was leaning towards pen but locite seems cheaper.

so what happens if i mess up? how do i remove the messed up bridges? with alcohol???

thanks.

Yeah, use alchohol, or acetone (nail polish remover) to remove the paint. then try again.

Try alcohol first. Acetone (nail polish remover) is powerful stuff. It tends to disolve just about anything made from petroleum. I'd worry about it removing the plastic coating on the AMD chip. Seriously.

The acetone is fairly safe as the bridges are a long way away from the core. Just don't get wild with the stuff.
